This route is the ideal introduction to Musandam and takes in dramatic beaches and historic forts before the coast road reaches the northernmost accessible point on the Arabian Peninsula's mainland. From here, on a clear day, you can see Iran across the Strait of Hormuz. But the views, and the hiking and camping, are even better up on the Harf Plateau.
