ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr Yasar Jarrar, PhD, has worked with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, in a career spanning various roles within the UAE and Dubai governments. An expert in strategy, public policy and performance management, Dr Jarrar served as Director of Strategy in Sheikh Mohammed’s Executive Office for more than three years, was the Executive Dean of the Dubai School of Government and previously held positions as Senior Advisor on Public Sector Reform & Development at the Prime Minister’s Office within the UAE Federal Government and Head of Policy & Strategy in Dubai’s Executive Council.

Having played a leading role in launching key initiatives, including the Dubai Government Agency Model, Dubai Strategic Plan, Dubai Government Performance Measurement System, the Dubai Institute for Human Resources Development, and the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Development Program, Dr Jarrar has gone on to provide advisory services around the globe as a partner for PricewaterhouseCoopers and the World Economic Forum, where he continues to share the lessons he has learned from the Sheikh CEO.
