The mission aims not only to reach Mars, but to bring together the Arab world with a new message of hope, and a reminder of the Arabic civilisations which prospered through science and discovery. Explorer was chosen by the office of His Highness to produce a comprehensive and prestigious national book reflecting the mission and its ethos, with prestigious VIP copies to be presented by His Highness. Editorial Strategy
Explorer combined the author’s inspiring work with visually appealing infographics to explain the various principles discussed in the book and worked closely with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre team to showcase their incredible achievements to date and highlight the ambitions of the UAE to develop a space sector with Emirati expertise. Our Arabic and English editorial teams ensured the quality of translation and final output of the book in both languages.
Creative Approach
For the VIPs, Explorer’s team conceived of a luxury leather box, containing a head-turning special edition of the book featuring a full gold-foiled cover embossed with a relief of the Red Planet. It was presented in a leather box, alongside a bespoke manufactured astrolabe – a symbol of the Arab world’s historic contribution to astronomy. The retail version of the book, available in both Arabic and English, featured a glossy hard cover, and breathtaking imagery of Mars coupled with the colours of the UAE flag.
