Joining a sports team can be a great way to meet new people that share your passions. While Dubai can cater for traditional sports such as football, there are also teams that train and compete in more obscure sports like dragon boat racing. If you're less of a team player, but still enjoy the commaraderie of sporting activities, the city has some fine golf clubs you can join up with, and dedicated sports centres such as the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Sports Complex . If you're interested in playing any of the sports on offer, there's sure to be someone on hand that can guide you to groups of regulars who will be sure to encourage you along.
