Hollywood is still not very safe. The money flooding in to clean it up has done little to decrease the area’s homelessness, prostitution and drug problems, and you will still find several seedy areas throughout, even right off the main drag of downtown Hollywood. It is wise to be aware of your surroundings and watch for street cons. Traffic can be brutal and you will also encounter the expected annoyances of living in a major tourist destination.
