Having had plenty of practice in built-up areas such as Hongqiao and Jinqiao, property developers offer new and improved villas in Kangqiao. Rents are in the ¥30,000-plus range for villa property. Smaller townhouses in developments such as Oasis Villas are cheaper than in other suburban areas, with rents from ¥20,000 to ¥40,000. Some accommodation looks out on the nearby industrial parks, which makes for an unattractive skyline.
