Although the city plans to extend Metro Line 1 and build Line 9 into the southern half of Minhang and the university campus of nearby Songjiang, cars and bikes are the only options for now. Easy access to the A5 expressway (which leads to Ya’an Elevated Highway) means a 30-45 minute drive to the city centre, depending on traffic conditions, and a 20 minute drive to Hongqiao or Gubei during off-hours. Parking is plentiful in these outskirts.­­­­
