Despite being Germany’s largest city, Berlin is by no means a barren, urban wasteland. With more than 2,500 parks, gardens and other public spaces, and over 400,000 trees lining the streets, this is a very green town. Brandenburg’s flat yet leafy countryside offers numerous lakes and other escapes into nature, all only a short train ride or drive out of the city.
