Environmental Issues

Most Berliners, like the majority of Germans, take environmental issues very seriously. The city produces an Environmental Atlas, essentially a detailed ecology report, detailing the condition of Berlin’s soil, water, air, important biotopes, land use, traffic, noise levels and energy use. The goal is to make urban development sustainable and less wasteful of precious natural resources. There is a digital version available at www.stadtentwicklung.berlin.de/umwelt/umweltatlas/edua_index.shtml
