Shopping Malls

With shopping being a popular pastime for many, malls have started sprouting up all over the city. The two latest additions – Omotesando Hills and Tokyo Midtown – boast both stunning innovative architecture and a host of international shops and restaurants. Most malls target a fashionable crowd, with a range of women’s and men’s boutiques and cafes, restaurants, hair and nail salons. There are also lifestyle and accessory shops. Despite having excellent facilities for mothers with babies, the major malls (especially in the centre of the city) are lacking in play facilities to keep young children entertained.

Parking is available within the complex and the rate is often discounted or free on presentation of a purchase receipt, depending on how long you stay. By far the easiest option is to catch a train in. Most malls open around 10:00 or 11:00 and close at around 21:30. Visit the individual websites for store listings.
