Al Khalidiyah

Set between 26th and 32nd Streets, and stretching up to the Corniche from 11th Street, this is one of the most upmarket areas in the city with leafy green suburban streets leading to high-rise towers and built-up local shopping areas. Khalidiyah Mall on 26th Street houses 160 shops, a number of food outlets, a children’s play area, and a well-stocked hypermarket.

Dining
More traditional food can be found at the multiple shawarma stands and this area has some of the best examples of these tasty, greasy joints: try Seashell Cafeteria behind Khalidiyah Tower, Zawak Al Sham near Fit Workz, Al Ramla Coast near Baskin Robbins, or Jabel Al Noor behind ADIB bank.

Culture
After scoffing that down, The Folklore Gallery on Khalidiya Street is a great place to head to for some browsing, with interesting displays of local pottery and art.

Leisure
This area also has two large public parks – Al Khalidiyah Public Park and Al Khalidiya Kids Park – both bustling with families late into the evening during the cooler months.
