Connecting To Dewa
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is the sole provider of water, electricity and sewerage, and when you rent/buy a house, you will need to connect to the service. Most premises are already registered with DEWA and the person named on the tenancy agreement is regarded as the account holder.
Your monthly DEWA bill also includes the Dubai Municipality housing tax, which, over the course of 12 months, adds up to 5% of the rental value of the property.
