Obtaining A Clearance Certificate

In order to prove to your landlord that you have settled your DEWA account before moving out – or if you are looking to sell your own property – you need to obtain a clearance certificate from DEWA. This procedure is fairly straightforward, and you can obtain the document the same day you disconnect your service.

Prerequisites

  • The water and electricity supply has been disconnected.
  • The final bill has been paid.

What to bring

  • Tenancy contract
  • Passport with residence visa 
  • Resident ID card

Procedure

  • Submit the final bill receipt
  • Collect service charge slip
  • Pay service charge
  • Present service charge receipt and collect clearance certificate.
        OR
  • Request Customer Clearance Certificate online.
  • Pay the Dhs.50 fee and on approval you will receive the certificate by email or SMS.
