Police have designated the area around Klausenerplatz in northern Charlottenburg a high-crime ‘problem neighbourhood’. Zoo Station, which has long been a hangout for heroin addicts and homeless teenagers, can feel quite seedy. Otherwise, most of Charlottenburg is considered quite safe.
