Between the airports of Roissy and Orly, Paris has world destinations pretty well covered, but the majority of Parisians still take their holidays within France or nearby. Factor in a handful of low-cost airlines and an excellent rail service (you can always hire a car at your destination), and it isn’t hard to see why this is the case. After all, why go long-haul when there are so many attractive destinations closer to? If you intend to take your holiday in August, remember that most Parisians do too.
