Because the hospitals have secured an exception from the government, they are freed from the fee table prescribed for public insurers. Rooms are more like hotel rooms, and as much effort is spent on making you feel as though you’re not in a hospital as it is on your medical care. Still, the clinics only offer routine procedures for common maladies as well as plastic surgery. Even if you have private health insurance, be sure your stay in the hospital is covered.
