You can buy as well as rent flats at bargain-basement prices. The area around Nauener Platz and the section of Koloniestrasse between Osloer Strasse and Soldiner Strasse draw the most artists and new arrivals. Beware that some residential areas of Wedding lie under the flight path of planes landing at Tegel airport. The average rent in Wedding is a very low €4.79 per square metre. Apartments cost an average €1,000 per square metre to buy.
