As in every other Berlin district with a large immigrant population, Wedding schools have a grim reputation that is the subject of much lurid coverage in local press. As in Neukölln, schools with large majorities of students from non-German-speaking families are criticised for failing to make their students competent in German or to equip them with decent job prospects.
