A number of companies provide tours beyond Paris by coach or, for a more personal visit, by minibus. Key destinations are the Châteaux of the Loire (typically you’ll visit three, including Chenonceau and Chambord) or Reims for a champagne house visit and a good look around the cathedral. Tours to the Normandy Landing beaches ring the changes but usually feature the outstanding Memorial museum at Caen. Mont-St-Michel makes a long day trip, but it’s also a favourite. In addition to these staples there are also excursions further afield, to Provence, Bruges or London.
