The island of Napoleon’s birth has bewitching mountain scenery, sandy beaches and some graceful, slightly faded towns of character. The interior is unusually lush for a Mediterranean island, and much of it is protected. For walkers, the big draw is the famously challenging GR30 route, but touring by car or train also has great appeal. All in all, it’s one island you should try hard to visit.
