Business Etiquette

The complicated world of Japanese business etiquette is a minefield of potential dangers even for natives. Business Japanese is very different from everyday use, and those new to the working world often need coaching from seniors. Other strict rules relating to hierarchy and form such as how deep to bow, for how long, and to whom are just the icing on the cake. Happily, the foreign worker does not have to worry about these too much, as politeness goes a long way and mastering every rule of Japanese etiquette is not expected of gaijin.
