Once you are established in the Japanese working world there is a wealth of networking opportunities to enhance your contact book and lay the foundations for that next career move. Organisations exist to bring people together by nationality, profession and gender, including the Entrepreneur Association of Tokyo (www.ea-tokyo.com), Foreign Executive Women in Japan (www.fewjapan.com) and the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan (www.fccj.or.jp). Other good bets include groups aimed at expats of different countries, of which the Tokyo American Club (p.242) is the most prominent.
