There are plenty of furniture shops in Tokyo, with varying ranges of prices and styles. There are new design shops opening up every day, and there is one for every budget. Agito in Roppongi Hills is on the more luxurious and expensive side with large couches that are bigger than some modest apartment rooms. IDC Otsuka offers a straightforward styles and clean lines for the mid-priced budget. Watashi no Heya and In the Room are slightly more muted, and FranFranc represents a younger and quirkier sense of style – its selection of plates are emblazoned with edgy prints, and many of the items in store come in bright colours. Afternoon Tea in Ginza is popular with trendy mums. Meanwhile, IKEA does great kids’ furniture and cheap steals for students. Don Quijote has multiple branches across the city and is good for cheap household goods. The most modest shops are the second-hand recycle shops that surround many stations. Here you can find a mix of cast-off everyday furniture and traditional antiques. Flea markets are also a great place to look for antique furniture.
