Jewellery & Watches

Most department stores carry a range of jewellery and watches from basic gold necklaces to more elaborate pieces, including engagement and wedding rings. Luxury jewellery has always been popular and perennial favourites are Cartier and Tiffany’s, which have several branches across the city (both have a bridal consultation service). Japan is famous for pearls, and Mikimoto is the best known dealer. However if you’re looking for something more affordable, Zara and Accesorize always have good options made from plastic, wood and other cheaper materials. Carese and Barneys specialise in vintage watches and jewellery, and Isetan men’s department has a notable watch selection. Diesel clothing company offers some more affordable timepieces. Go to Ginza and have a walk about; there are hundreds of small jewellers lining the quiet back streets. Many of the parks and streets in Shibuya play host to street vendors hawking their ethnic wares.
