The Ochanomizu area, including parts of Bunkyō-ku and Chiyoda-ku is famous for its multitude of camping and outdoor gear and is worth a wander. L-Breath in Shinjuku is a leading outdoor shop that sells everything from hiking boots to canned oxygen for mountain-climbing. It has an especially good selection of mountain climbing accessories and cold weather gear for trekking and hiking. Oshman’s provide much less technical fare, with basic hiking boots and clothing. The Sports Authority do some camping equipment and tents, as well as camping accessories. Basic survival gear, earthquake survival gear and camping miscellany can be found at Tokyu Hands, and Loft. Costco carries a variety of tents, flashlights, outdoor furniture, barbecues and packaged food for camping.
